2. I waste way too much time hitting "new posts", just so I don't miss anything.

3. I am anal about my kids bedrooms, yet the rest of the house (including my room) can be a mess. I know, doesn't make sense!

4. I say I Love you a million times a day:) (at least)

5. I HATE confrontation, but also want to be heard, esp if I am "right", or feel you are totally out of line. This is something I really struggle with & it drives me crazy!

Roasted hamsters...

for dinner?!

Yep, that's what C-Man thought I said we would dining on last night. Still not sure how he got that out of what I REALLy said, but hey, it was definitely funny!

On our way off the football field last night, he asked what we were having for dinner, I said "ham stir fry", he got a confused look on his face & then asked WHY I was serving hamsters & where I got them from! OMGosh, it was hilarious! I just told him I took it out yesterday, it didn't all get eaten last night, so I figured we could have the rest tonight. We laughed the entire way home about how we would be eating "roasted hamsters". I asked if I should serve "tarantulas" & "Ferrari's" with that too!

Yes, I serve "weird" things to my family. Actually, maybe my kids just think I'm such a boring cook, they have to make up names to try to "brighten" things up a bit.

Just in case you're wondering, here are the definitions of these "funny" names...

Tarantulas: http://momentsofmajicandmayhem.blogspot.com/2008/05/tarantulas-for-dinner.html
Roasted hamsters: diced up ham, mixed with veggies (I used corn, green beans & peas) over white rice
Ferraris: Black Cherry Citris Fresca

My family may be, ummm, different? but we sure do have fun!

I feel homeless...

Well, I'm not sure if that's 100% accurate, but holy cow, it's close! I seriously feel like I'm never home anymore.  Here's a little run down on my schedule...
M: soccer... home around 6:45
T: football x2 (gone from 3:15-7:45) (Hubby has band practice here until around 10)
W: soccer... home to "trade" kids, scouts until 8:30-9
T: same as Tues
F: NOTHING (my new favorite day of the week)... although tomorrow the band has a "gig" so I'm going to support the guys (at least for a little bit)
Weekend: 1 soccer game, 2 football games & church

I'm tellin ya, I feel like I live either in my car, or at one of the fields here in town. Man, the things we do for our kids! LOL

Things are going well, we're now in the middle of soccer & football season, with basketball getting ready to start.   All 3 of the boys will be playing, they can't wait! I think basketball is their very favorite sport (well, maybe hockey too... & football...). The 2 older boys will be trying something new this season, but I'll save the details for later.

My parents & brother were here last weekend, we had so much fun. Mom, Princess & I went shopping which is always fun, we all got to watch the boys' games, which is exciting, & Gammy spent the afternoon hanging out with my boys in the kitchen. I am SO glad they came, we just all had a great time . I really wish we lived closer, but then at the same time, because we don't, it's always a BIG deal & so special when we get to see them & spend time together.

Here are a few pics from the wknd...

A calling of service...

I don't know how many of you know this, but I am not only a scout mom, but also a leader. I have an incredible "asst.", who is actually a nonmember (not a member of our church), but is absolutely one of the biggest assets our cub program has. Anyway, we are trying to get all of "our" boys to earn their "Webelos" rank. Tonight we planned a service project. There is an elderly (86 I think) widow in our ward that needed her firewood moved from 1 stacked pile, to another, closer to her door. We had 4 of our 5 boys there with us, we didn't get it all moved, but definitely made a big dent in it. What a neat experience for all of us. She was VERY "meticulous" about what she wanted, how she wanted it done, etc, but that's okay, it's her that will have to deal with it this winter, she's been doing this long enough that she knows what works for her. Our boys worked so hard, they didn't goof off, they worked the entire time, taking turns running the wheelbarrow, unloading, loading, & then stacking. We got pics, but Sonya has them on her camera. This lady was SO beyond thankful for our little guys & the work they did, she just kept telling me how much she appreciated what we did for her & how much this means to her. What an unbelievable feeling I walked away with. It didn't take much work, we weren't there for very long (maybe 45 minutes was all), but wow, we actually made a difference in someone's life.

I was/am so proud of these boys, not only did they work so hard, they had fun too! They even got a kick out of comparing their "war wounds" when it was all over & done with.

Anyway, it was such a great evening, we're doing another service project next week, although, something a little different. We're picking up litter on the butte. I'm sure the boys will make sure we have just as much fun next Wed as we did tonight!

Sometimes, I really love my calling, I am so blessed to be able to work with, teach, & learn from this neat group of boys!

I'm scared!

I came upstairs to do some laundry & left the Princess downstairs watching Mickey Mouse.  I finished up here & headed down to the kitchen.  The sound was off on the TV, but I didn't think too much about it.  Well, I finished loading up the dishwasher & tried to put Mickey back on for her.  Well... I CAN'T GET THE SOUND PROCESSOR TO TURN ON!  I at first thought it was just the remote being stubborn, but NOOOO, of course, it couldn't be anything that simple.  I have NO IDEA what she did, or even IF SHE did anything.  All I know is that Daddy is NOT going to be happy when he gets home!

Yeah, I'm shakin, I'm scared!  Let's hope & pray it's an easy fix.  Here's a pic, just as a reminder that it's a good thing she's cute!

Maybe I should blow that one up to "remind" him how cute & innocent she really is!

***He called on his way home, so I gave him a head's up. he walked in & had it "fixed" within seconds, she had turned off something else, that powers the SP. He just laughed. WHEW, made it through that one easily! LOL***

Not quite "still in shock"...

I actually think I'm getting used to her hair being so short.  I want to post some pics, but something is all wonky with my comp, it won't read either of my cameras.  Hubby WILL be working on this tomorrow for me! LOL

It's been a busy, but fun & "relaxing" weekend.  I went to Super Saturday yesterday at church.  I had SO much fun.  It was great to get out & just have some good ol adult conversations & tons of laughter!  We have had 1 soccer game & 1 football game.  Both boys played great.  Next week, we'll add 1 more football game in.  BUT... my parent's are coming to watch & spend the wknd with us, I can't wait!!!

Bubby was cute, he got on the phone & asked my mom if she would come watch him play.  Awww, how can you say no to that?!  They couldn't make it this week, but will be here Friday night.  It's gonna be so much fun.

Ok, I'm outta here, I scrapped a page today & I want to finish it.  Hopefully the next time I'll post, I'll have pics to share.

I DID IT!!!

What did I do you ask? Well, I cut the Princess's hair!!! I finally decided it just needed to be done so I bit the bullet & got out the scissors & started cutting before I could change my mind. UGH, I took the first *snip* & let me tell you, I literally got sick to my stomach! I finished up (keep in mind I have NEVER cut hair before, well, that's not entirely true, I used to do the boys', but trust me, I have NO idea what I'm doing). I seriously had to keep my self from crying! I'm still kind of in shock, I just keep looking at her & it's so weird. I KNOW that in the long run, this will be the best thing I could have done, I KNOW her hair will come in thicker & grow faster because of it. I also KNOW it's still a shock!

Those of you that know me even a little bit, know this is a HUGE deal. Yes, I'm going to be limited in what I can do with her hair now, but don't fear, I have some ideas. I'll just have to modify some of the 'do's I do. LOL

Ok, I'll stop blabbing now & give you what you're actually waiting for... the pics! (Please don't be too harsh, I TOLD you I didn't know what I was doing)!

Here's a back shot of right before the 1st *snip*...

The back, right after...

The side, right after...

All Done...

***It really is straight, in this last pic it looks like 1 side is shorter, that's because I have that side pulled up, so you're just seeing part of the pony.***

More football...

...different child! Ok, so I felt I should have gotten the bad mom award last month when I realized I didn't sign D up for flag football. I did get him on the waiting list, BUT here, that translates to... "too bad too sad". Seriously, I have NEVER known parks & rec to contact anyone on the waiting list, for ANY sport. Anyway, Bubby was a great sport about it, but has been extremely disappointed about not playing. Out of the blue today, I got a phone call from P & R, hmmm, that's odd, guess I better answer to figure out what's going on. I was asked if D still wanted to play, they had an opening!!! Can I just tell you I think I may have told Rich (on the other end of the phone) that I loved him?! Holy cow, it was all I could do to not drive over to the school right then & there to tell D he was on a team. I got ready & went down & paid for it, just to make sure it really did happen.

I'm sure you're wondering (& even if you aren't, I'll tell ya anyway) how in the heck I'm going to fit in 1 more sport (3 day a week commitment) to our already CRAZY & HECTIC lives. Well, it just so happens, his practice is held at the same place as C-Man's football, same days even. The boys will over lap a bit, so D will just go with us & hang out during C-Man's practice, then we'll walk over to the other field & he'll have his. It seriously couldn't have been any better if I had planned it. Not sure where his games are going to be played, that part could get tricky, but we'll figure something out.

I picked the boys up from school & was still so excited, I walked in to the school (I usually don't do that) & gave Bubby the good news. He was DARLING, he started jumping up & down & told everyone he saw that he was a "Packer"! Too cute!

I know, I thought my life was hectic before, now it's just down right crazy, but ya know, the boys are happy & it's all good!!! Off to soccer practice now, then home to "switch" kids & off to scouts...

Football is under way...

I know I told you I would update with pics of C-Man's first football game, sorry it's taken so long. Life got in the way.  Anyway, here are the long awaited pics from his first game.  BTW, I told him that from now on, he has to wear different colored socks, I couldn't find him when he was playing, it was beyond frustrating!  Even when Prince Charming would point him out to me as they were "set", once the play started, I spent the entire time looking for him & STILL had a hard time.  By that time, the play was long over & they were getting ready to start another.  GRRRR, I'm not sure about this football stuff!

They played great, ended up tying the other team, but above all, he had fun!  OH, we already got our first "injury" out of the way, now hopefully we can just sit back & enjoy the rest of the season.  I'll add a pic of his "injury", it was a big ol monkey bump on his right forearm.  Horrible, pic, but at least you get the idea.  Needless to say, I went out that day &  bought him some forearm pads to wear! LOL  I know, I'm SUCH a mom!

He's #24... going after the ball...

Trying with all his might...

& the yucky pic...

Stay tuned for more sports pics & updates next weekend!

My soccer star!

Today was Bubby's first soccer game of the season. In first grade here, they play 3 on 3, so they split the team up onto 3 different "fields". We were down a player or two, so on field 1 (where D was) we didn't have a sub. These 3 kiddos played the entire game. They play 3 10 min periods. Even though Parks & Rec doesn't "keep score", the kids do! We ended up winning all 3 "games" we played on our field. Ok, I know I'm going to sound like a "mom" on this one, but let me tell you, D is an outstanding athlete! Seriously, esp for only being 6. He knows what to do, where to be, & man, he has the moves too! To be completely honest, sometimes it's embarrassing. He's definitely the superstar! Anyway, I took 106 pics at today's game, I think I'm off the hook for taking more pics the rest of the season, what do you think?! LOL Here are just a few of my favs of today's game.
Scoring a goal...

Look how hard he played, his little face was SO red!

Takin it down the field...

Getting ready to score again...

& again...

"Now THAT is how you play the game!"  I LOVE the look on Payten's face behind Bubs!

Stay tuned for pics of C-Man's first football game sometime tomorrow.

Desi, this one's for you!

Ok, Des is ALWAYS giving me a hard time about The Princess's hair. "Do you EVER let her wear it down"? Well, Desi, today I did. I told you I would, but knew you wouldn't believe me, so I took some pics as proof.
Here is her hair down, she found a headband lastnight & wanted to wear it. Of course, her hair was already done & I wasn't going to undo it, so I told her she could wear it today. I made a headband with her hair underneath, (just so it wouldn't slip) & then curled it all after the"real" headband was in place. I think it turned out pretty darn cute if I do say so myself.

Ok, certainly not the best pics, but at least you get the idea!

I'll touch up the curls in the back before we actually leave the house, just to make sure they are "tight".

I'm a Princess!

I snapped this pic today & absolutely love it. Just wanted to share it with all of you. Isn't she a doll? She's the one that rules our house!

It's official!!!

I'm going to my very first SS retreat! I am SO beyond excited. I get to meet some of my closest friends, I get to laugh & stay up late, & just have fun. I even get to add a little bit of "extra" time to hang out with my friend before & after. We booked my flight today, I still can't believe it's really going to happen. I kept trying to not get my hopes up, just in case something fell through & I couldn't go. HOLY COW, I can't believe I really get to go! Ok, if I'm going to be 100% honest here, I have to admit, I'm also a little freaked out & nervous. I have NEVER left my kids before, EVER. This will be a first for me. I know, it's only for 4 days really, I leave here Wed night, drive to Ptld & fly to Cali Thursday morning. I leave Cali Mon morning & will be back home sometime that afternoon. BUT STILL! Prince Charming is going to be in for a wake up call when he realizes he'll be on school duty, along with soccer & football practices & games; Not to mention, Princess will need her hair done. LOL, like THAT'S going to happen! Poor thing, hopefully she'll survive not having it done all cute & fancy. Guess she'll have to settle for "down & easy" until I get back. YIKES!

Ok, if I keep thinking about this, it's going to freak me out so much that I cancel, since I don't want that to happen, I'm going to go back to my "happy place"! I can't wait to finally meet my friends! Heck with scrapping, I plan on just having fun, & hopefully working on fun Christmas cards with Desi.

HOLY COW, I'm really going!!!

1st day of school...

Even though I heard the typical "complaints" of school starting again, all 3 of the boys were up bright & early this morning.  It was the easiest morning ever, seriously!  Not once did I have to say anything to them about getting ready, B & C both came down totally ready for school (that's pretty typical), C-Man was ready by 7:30, I had to laugh, we don't need to leave the house until 8:40!  Yeah, I don't care what they SAY, actions speak louder than words.  They were pretty excited to go back to school, even if to only see all their friends again.

Bonez has to leave pretty early for the bus (he is in 7th grade ya know, heaven forbid he let mom take him to school) LOL, I DID get the traditional pics though, he was a pretty good sport about it too.

I did have a few "UGH, why do we have to do pics AGAIN this year, you do them EVERY year..."(duh) from the younger 2, but they were fine, I think they just wanted to get to school & meet up with their friends.

I took the other 2 (no bussing for them), we dropped off C-Man & off he went, I said hi to his teacher & asked if she was ready for this.  He caught up with a friend of his & off they went.  I planned on walking Bubby to his classroom, but when I turned around, he was trying to escape.  Luckily he wasn't very fast, so I caught up with him & off we went.  As we were walking into his neighborhood, his good friend from last year walked out.  Talk about excitement!  These are only 2 of 13 kinders that are even attending this school this year.  They are even in the same class. WHOO-HOO! Kyler walked in with us, we got D situated & off the 2 of them went, headed for the playground.

Obviously, neither of my boys had any issues with mom leaving today!  Needless to say, The Princess is a little "off", she isn't used to having the house to herself.  Wonder what kind of trouble she'll be finding!  Guess I better find the child lock & put it back on B's bedroom, I do NOT want to have to deal with him coming home & finding his room trashed because of her!!!

This is going to be quite the adjustment for all of us.  B & C will be just fine, D, well, it's gonna be a looooong day for him, but I'm sure he'll figure it all out quickly enough.  Me, well, I'm not used to all the quiet, but Princess & I will find plenty to do, I'm sure.  YAY, lots of GIRLIE TIME!!!

Ok, here are some of the pics I snapped this morning...

Bonez...

C-Man...

Bubby...

I even managed to get 1 of C & D together, they were supposed to be showing what grade they were going into ;)
